Recently we attended another interesting discussion on the funding gap in Asia. The event was held at Wisma N2N Auditorium, Tower 2 Avenue 3, Bangsar South last Wednesday (27th November) at 5.30 p.m. It was a very small event with only about 35 people present. The panelist consisted of Dr. Gabriel Walter, co-founder of Quantum Electro Opto Systems (QEOS), Patrick Grove, Catcha Group Founder, DTA Capital Partners Chief Executive Officer, Dali Sardar and Nizran Noordin CEO of TaxiMonger.
The Google Partners event was once again spectacular and memorable, with over 50 guests present. The ambience definitely was impressive and quickly made you feel at home. The event was held in Aloft, KL Sentral at 6 p.m. on the 20th of November. The location was excellent, as it was very near our office. Upon arrival, I was invited to take a photo by the customary photographer at the photo booth. It was wonderful. As usual, there were props provided to make the pictures look more interesting. The props included a wine glass, a mustache, a hat and other attractive items. The photo taking sessions at Google events are really quite interesting. There was also a variety of food served that night, ranging from traditional Malay kuih, desserts, and small cakes to noodles, spring rolls and curry puffs. Drinks included wine, beer, and fruit punch.
We were recently invited to represent Google at Rakuten’s first-ever Expo Malaysia, in The Gardens Hotel, Grand Ballroom last Monday. We were given a booth alongside other Rakuten partners including Southeast Asia’s leading payment gateway solutions ipay88, Toys “R” Us, and P1. The ambience was grand, with approximately 100 guests and partners present at the ballroom that day.
For the present-day businessmen it is certainly no secret that advertising is the backbone of every business. However, today advertising is not that simple as it used to be 10 years ago or had been even earlier. Nowadays, the first thing you need to choose is whether to continue working with the traditional print advertising way or to give a try to the new and popular methods of online advertising. What is the difference in which is more effective?
If you have tried Google AdWords yourself, you should be no stranger to the Enhanced Campaign introduced early this year. In this day and age, the world is moving towards a techy edge where one device is no longer sufficient. Be it because we get bored of hogging one device from the minute we wake or whether we simply have trouble keeping our phones working after dying for the third time that day. We now wake up with our phone(s) in the morning, deliver a pitch with a tablet and a laptop to our clients at a meeting, and back on our phones on the train back, and finally on the good old desktop as soon as we step into that long awaited comfort zone called home.
A week ago SearchGuru attended a conference for women to share the experience they gained from the success of their online businesses. Speakers at the event included Roshni Mahtani from Tickled Media, Rachel Yan from LittleWhiz.com, Joanne Ho from CupcakeChic, Nuraizah from Madcat World and Action Coach Legend, Jeevan Sahadevan. It was organised by GBG PJ who never fails to impress at each of their events where they always manage to invite marvelous speakers and allow participants to join without a fee.
